Okanagan wineries at a glance
Peachland is a quiet base for Okanagan wineries. The nearest cluster lies to the north around West Kelowna and Westbank, a short drive along Highway 97. The Okanagan Valley is the largest wine region in British Columbia, with a north to south reach of more than 250 km. That is the length of the wine region, not of the lake.
Tasting rooms differ a lot. Some open only in the warm months, others all year, so check the hours of each place before you set out.

The Westside Wine Trail near West Kelowna
The wineries nearest to Peachland belong to one trade route.
The Westside Wine Trail is a route of tasting rooms on the west side of the lake. Its members open on different seasons, from spring to fall up to year round. If you want to drive it, read the guide to Okanagan wine tours first, because the driver cannot taste.
Wine is not the only thing around here. A walk at Hardy Falls or an hour on the beach fills the gaps between tastings.

How the Okanagan wine region is organised
Names you meet on bottles and maps.
The Okanagan has 11 formal sub-regions. Among them are Lake Country, East Kelowna Slopes and South Kelowna Slopes, plus several further south around Penticton and Summerland. West Kelowna and Peachland are not sub-regions of their own, so a winery on the west side is simply an Okanagan Valley winery. Further south the formal sub-regions include the Naramata Bench, Okanagan Falls and the Golden Mile Bench; those are trips of their own, not a quick detour from Peachland. The Naramata Bench has its own guide if you plan to go south.
The Okanagan has around 200 wineries. For British Columbia as a whole there were 277 licensed grape wineries in June 2026, so that number covers the whole province.
How tastings work
Fees, bookings and age.
Many tasting rooms charge a tasting fee. Some credit it against a bottle you buy. Some ask you to book ahead, others welcome walk-ins, so there is no rule that covers all. The minimum age for tasting and buying is 19, and staff ask for ID. Do not assume that children can come along or that a child price exists.
Autumn brings tastings and harvest events, but each tasting room decides its own program.
| Way to visit | Good for | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Own car with a sober driver | Short trips and flexible stops | The driver does not drink; limits start at 0.05 % blood alcohol |
| Guided tour | Several tastings in one day | Check what is included; do not assume tastings or lunch are part of the price |
| Follow the trail | Several tasting rooms in one area | Hours range from seasonal to year round |
For most visitors who want to taste at more than one place, a guided tour or a designated sober driver is the best choice.
